Getting There
The closest airport to Mill Valley is San Francisco International (SFO). Here is information on ground transportation there.
The next closest airport is Oakland International (OAK). Here is information on ground transportation from there. (It's right near Revolution Foods!)
San Jose International, while close to our apartment in the South Bay/Silicon Valley, isn't very close to Mill Valley, and your flight would likely be more expensive anyway.
We will have transportation from the two hotels where we have blocks to the Ralston White Retreat. Nevertheless, it'd be smart to rent a car, as it's the easiest way to get around and explore.
Hanging Out
One of the best things about the San Francisco Bay Area is all of the great places to visit. Mill Valley itself is a very cute little town with some tasty restaurants. It is part of Marin County, one of the most picturesque areas in the Bay Area that includes Muir Woods and Mount Tamalpais. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to the south and explore San Francisco. Drive over the Richmond Bridge (a pretty terrifying bridge drive but worth the beautiful views!) to the east and explore Oakland and Berkeley. Drive to the north and you will be in wine country. Drive to the west and you will hit the Pacific Ocean and Point Reyes National Seashore (oyster fans will want to shuck their own oysters at one of the oyster companies there). Drive even further south, past all of the tech companies, and explore Saratoga, Los Gatos, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Cruz, and more.
